What will I learn?

The University of Bolton's MSc in Biomedical Engineering focuses on helping you gain the advanced knowledge, scientific and technical expertise, and research skills needed for a professional career in this diverse and rapidly developing field. Our dedicated staff will support you in developing the specialist engineering knowledge and skills required to address medical and biological problems in healthcare, rehabilitation and advanced materials. We’ll support you as you extend your knowledge and understanding of the engineering and scientific principles that underpin biomedical engineering and explore emerging technological advancements in the field. We’ll focus on helping you gain the postgraduate-level research and critical thinking skills you’ll need to successfully apply your knowledge and understanding to contemporary problems in the industry. By enhancing your transferable skills, such as critical analysis, problem-solving, project management, decision-making, leadership and communication, we aim to help you maximise your employability ready for a successful career as a professional biomedical engineer. Additionally, the course is designed to address all the competencies set out by the Engineering Council and UK-SPEC and support you in achieving Chartered Engineer (CEng) status. Entry requirements

For international students

Normally, you should have at least a lower second class honours degree (2.2) in an engineering-related subject; for instance, a BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering or Physics.
