What will I learn?

The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence will provide you with a deep understanding of cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques and the practical skills to implement data analytics using AI.The rate at which we can create data is rapidly accelerating. Ranging from biomedical data to monitoring climate change, this sector has never been more important. Artificial intelligence can play a key role in understanding how this data can create positive change.The MSc Data Science and Artificial Intelligence will provide you with statistical, computational and data analysis skills.We’ll explore the exciting possibilities that artificial intelligence can have on the area of data science and analysis.You’ll be grounded in the basics, learning the mathematical foundations of statistics, data mining and machine learning, and apply these to practical, real-world data.You’ll gain the computational techniques needed to efficiently analyse very large data sets.You’ll apply Natural Language Processing and Deep Learning methods to a range of real-world data.You’ll learn under the guidance of experts in health analytics, neuroscience, finance, business and management.

Entry requirements

For international students

You'll gain a strong foundation in data science and specialist knowledge in a particular field. We do not assume that you will have programmed before, but we do require a level of mathematical dexterity that is commensurate with having completed a numerate degree.

You'll have a BA or BSc Degree at 2.2 standard or above in a subject such as computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or quantitative subjects like economics and finance.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
