What will I learn?

Prepare to play your part in the creation, renewal and management of sustainable learning processes and spaces on this specialist master’s, studying with leading academics at UCL’s top ranked Bartlett School for Sustainable Construction. As the global student population continues to grow and lifelong learning takes new and unexpected forms, there's an increased need for effective, inclusive and sustainable learning environments conducive to positive educational and social outcomes. On this master’s, you’ll develop and extend your knowledge of the creation, innovation and management of educational processes and spaces for all educational stages, from early years to university and beyond. Explore themes like innovative modes of teaching and learning, and the changing impact of digital technologies on learning environments' effectiveness, equity, and diversity. You’ll also examine the latest thinking on intersectional inclusion in education, and the interplay of teachers, students, communities, and physical facilities in promoting sustainable development. Based at our Bloomsbury campus in the heart of London, you’ll get first-hand insights on visits to pioneering educational facilities across the city and take part in exchanges with colleagues from the UCL's Institute of Education (Global #1 in Education & Training, QS World University Subject Rankings 2025). Hear from expert speakers from the fields of education, sustainability, and the built environment, study alongside students specialising in broader aspects of design, management, innovation, and sustainability - and engage with The Bartlett's world class research and pedagogy. Your interdisciplinary expertise across education, sustainability, management and the built environment will set you up to make a positive impact on future learners, educators and society as a whole. The Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction is a global centre for sustainable built environment, management, and educational practices. Find out more about the benefits of studying with us here.
