What will I learn?

This degree is designed to equip you with the skills and confidence to contribute to the technical development of financial services, whether in a dynamic start-up or a well-established organisation.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with experts in finance, computer science, and mathematics from across the university’s departments. Group projects may include students from both our Hendon and Dubai campuses, providing a global perspective on Financial Technology and helping you build an international collaborative network.

Our innovative module, Current Topics in Financial Technology, allows you to co-design learning activities tailored to your individual interests.

This course is ideal for applicants who wish to gain a deep understanding of the financial sector while developing advanced programming skills with direct applications to finance.

This programme offers a global perspective on finance, alongside the technical skills required to develop innovative financial technology products. It will prepare you for a range of technical roles within the rapidly growing FinTech sector, including positions such as quantitative analyst and machine learning engineer.

You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the structure and operation of financial markets, and become proficient in accessing, analysing, and visualising various types of financial data.

In addition, you will enhance your programming capabilities by exploring a wide range of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning theories and techniques, database technologies, application programming interfaces (APIs), distributed computing methods, and blockchain technologies. You will gain hands-on experience in applying these tools to develop viable FinTech products as part of an authentic, collaborative software development team.

As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to co-design your learning activities according to your individual interests. You will also collaborate with peers from our London and Dubai campuses, working together to solve real-world problems through international teamwork.
