What will I learn?

The MSc Information Technology with Cloud Computing is delivered at UWS London Campus and is specifically designed for graduates from non-IT backgrounds who seek to develop expertise in both information technology and cloud computing. By combining essential IT principles with a deep dive into internet technologies, cloud architectures, and automation strategies, the MSc equips you with the skills to design, implement, manage, and secure scalable cloud solutions, enabling businesses to innovate and operate efficiently.Throughout your studies, you will develop a high level of competence in applying cloud computing. You’ll master not only the core principles of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and deployment models, but also the foundational networking concepts that underpin them, including internet architecture, routing, and data transfer protocols, alongside practical network performance analysis. Crucially, you will gain hands-on experience with large-scale data processing using industry-relevant tools like MapReduce and Hadoop, understand vital cloud security considerations, and explore the principles of agile cloud automation. This comprehensive approach ensures you can make informed commercial decisions based on a robust technical understanding. The curriculum builds your expertise progressively. You’ll start with fundamental IT concepts and then delve into the intricacies of internet and cloud computing, covering everything from network protocols to advanced cloud service models and programming paradigms like MapReduce. This structured learning ensures that even those without prior technical experience can confidently tackle complex cloud infrastructures and grasp the principles underlying sophisticated cloud applications and automation.
