MSt (Res) in French

What will I learn?

MSt (Res), a research-based Masters degree. You will engage in a full-time research project and write a thesis of no more than 30,000 words. It is an excellent opportunity to spend a shorter time in a research environment either for a standalone degree or as preparation for a PhD. The ability to understand foreign languages and cultures ought to be one of the fundamental principles of the globalised world. Studying foreign languages at university offers the opportunity to understand people, cultures and histories in their original languages. It also provides the chance to contextualise your own language and culture much more broadly. In the School of Modern Languages, you will study alongside experts in the seven language subjects, as well as Comparative Literature, whose research stretches from the Middle Ages to the present day across a wide range of topics.
