What will I learn?

The Computing with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) PGCE equips you to teach the 11-16 age range. During the course, you will develop the skills required to be a specialist subject teacher capable of designing and teaching excellent lessons in Computing. You are also supported to develop your knowledge and understanding of teaching Computer Science A level. The course consists of university-based sessions, school-based sessions and teaching placements. University-based sessions will include the study of the Computing curriculum, lesson planning, effective teaching, classroom management and approaches to assessment. Some of the professional studies elements will be delivered in school.

Entry requirements

For international students

A minimum of a lower second-class UK Bachelors degree in a digitally-related subject, or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a digitally-related subject, or a lower second-class UK Bachelors degree in any subject with significant work experience in a digital field e.g. programmer, network engineer or web developer.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
