What will I learn?

The NHLI welcomes outstanding students from around the world onto its basic and clinical science PhD programme. Within the NHLI, successful applicants will have the opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in a highly supportive and motivating environment, as well as have access to an outstanding and award winning network of supervisors, mentors and experienced postgraduate tutors.The NHLI is the UK's largest heart and lung institute undertaking world-leading research into all aspects of cardiac, respiratory and vascular science. Through this, we aim to develop better treatment and understanding of common conditions of the heart and lung.It normally takes between three and four years of full-time work to complete. It is also possible to undertake a PhD part time, over five to six years.
