Coventry University is introducing innovative six-week teaching blocks, offering excellent flexibility for international students seeking quality UK education.
Coventry University is transforming the traditional academic calendar with an innovative approach to higher education that allows students to begin their studies at six different points throughout the year. This advanced model breaks from the conventional term and semester system, putting students' needs at the center of the university experience.
From September 2025, taught postgraduate courses transitioned to six start dates per year, with undergraduate courses following in September 2026. This forward-thinking approach means students no longer need to wait for the traditional September or January start dates, but can begin their academic journey at a time that best suits their personal circumstances.
This carousel structure also means that if a student needs to take a break from studies due to personal circumstances, they can rejoin at the next available point without losing an entire academic year - a feature particularly valuable for international students who may need to return home temporarily.

Average tuition fees per year will vary depending on the course being studied and its length.
For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the Fees and Finance page on the university’s website.
Coventry University’s Cost of Living Hub could help students manage their money. Students will find helpful information on student finance, budgeting tools, and more.
Entry requirements differ, depending on where students applying from and what course they have chosen.
For most undergraduate courses, students will need an IELTS score of 6.0 or an equivalent English qualification. Students will be asked to provide evidence of their English language test when they apply.
If students want to improve their English language skills before starting their course, Coventry University offers pre-sessional English courses. These courses will help students reach the required language level for their chosen programme. They'll also help students get ready for academic study and give them a great chance to meet other international students who are coming to Coventry University.
If students don't meet the direct entry requirements for their dream undergraduate or postgraduate course, Coventry University offers high-quality preparation programmes designed to help international students achieve the academic and English grades they need.
