Politics analyses difference political systems, governance, public policies and the dynamics of power and justice in contemporary society. You’ll open your mind to philosophical questioning, be exposed to a diverse range of philosophers and acquire a logical toolbox of skills to improve your professional abilities and develop your skills as a social scientist. Contemporary issues in politics are explored focusing on concepts of power, democracy and terrorism. You’ll also investigate the contemporary threats facing global democracy such as misinformation, artificial intelligence and the rise of populism, and learn how to apply philosophical concepts to critical issues such as environmental degradation.
