Our MA in Philosophy allows you to explore influential philosophical traditions in depth and to understand how philosophical ideas can illuminate major contemporary questions and global challenges. The degree can be taken over one year full-time or two years part-time, and welcomes students from a wide range of academic backgrounds.You will develop advanced skills in critical analysis, argument, and interpretation, whilst working closely with active researchers. The course includes a substantial independent research project in a philosophical area of your choosing, supported by one-to-one supervision.Throughout your studies, you will be part of a lively research community, with opportunities to attend departmental seminars, reading groups, workshops, and postgraduate-organised activities.
