Our MSc in Project Management in the Built Environment prepares students to manage projects across the sector, from conception to completion, including specialist developments. Designed for those without a construction background, it aligns closely with our MSc in Construction Management.
The course is shaped by industry input through our Professional Liaison Group (PLG), ensuring practical relevance. We maintain strong links with leading companies such as Laing O’Rourke, Kier, Mace, Willmott Dixon, and BAM Construction.
Students tackle real industry challenges, gaining skills in
- Building Information Modelling (BIM)
- Project finance, technology,
- and procurement.
The MSc is offered full-time over one year, or part-time on-campus or via distance learning over two years, extendable up to five years.

The course is open to applicants who hold a 2.1 undergraduate honours degree (or international equivalent) in any discipline. We will actively consider applications from candidates with lower degrees, who can evidence substantiated & relevant experience in construction. Industry professionals with suitable practice qualifications (e.g MRICS, MCIOB) - demonstrating ability to study at master's level, are also encouraged to apply.
