What will I learn?

Develop and further your knowledge of respiratory medicine and learn the necessary skills to understand and conduct biomedical/clinical research. MSc Respiratory Medicine is an academic course designed to develop and further your understanding and knowledge of respiratory medicine focusing on up-to-date research and developments in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. The course is suitable for healthcare professionals, researchers and intercalating medical students. You will receive training in the skills required in the reading and interpretation of the literature and translating that into evidence-based practice. The course culminates in the Research Dissertation, which will be assessed through your production of a research article written in the style of publishable scientific work and a short oral presentation. Options could include literature, data or laboratory-based projects, depending on research interests. Successful completion of this MSc course can lead to a range of exciting career and research opportunities including careers in biomedical or clinical research, medicine, physician associate, PhD study or teaching.

Entry requirements

For international students

To be eligible to apply for an MPhil or PhD programmes, applicants should normally have, or expect to obtain, at least an upper second class honours degree in a discipline appropriate to their intended area of research.
