This course is primarily intended for candidates who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry, have not met the expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances, or have previous commitments to elite-level sport. It is also designed for mature students returning to education and care leavers.Loughborough University's Foundation Studies programme is designed to help a wide range of students achieve their university ambitions. The streamed structure allows students to progress onto multiple courses within their chosen stream, providing additional time to determine which course best suits their interests and goals.The foundation programme is particularly suitable for:Students who have not studied the prerequisite subjects required for first-year entry into their preferred course.Students who did not meet expected entrance requirements due to adverse circumstances, including illness or caring responsibilities.Mature students or care leavers.Students performing at an elite athletic level who must balance academic study with high-level sporting commitments.Students enrolled in the course are full members of the University and have access to the Students’ Union, clubs, societies, sports facilities, support departments, and the outstanding student experience that Loughborough University provides.
