Coventry University is introducing innovative six-week teaching blocks, offering excellent flexibility for international students seeking quality UK education.
Coventry University is transforming the traditional academic calendar with an innovative approach to higher education that allows students to begin their studies at six different points throughout the year. This advanced model breaks from the conventional term and semester system, putting students' needs at the center of the university experience.
From September 2025, taught postgraduate courses transitioned to six start dates per year, with undergraduate courses following in September 2026. This forward-thinking approach means students no longer need to wait for the traditional September or January start dates, but can begin their academic journey at a time that best suits their personal circumstances.
This carousel structure also means that if a student needs to take a break from studies due to personal circumstances, they can rejoin at the next available point without losing an entire academic year - a feature particularly valuable for international students who may need to return home temporarily.

A range of scholarships and early payment discounts are currently available to international students. Coventry University’s EU Support Bursary also offers financial support to European students wishing to study with them full-time.

Entry requirements differ, depending on where students applying from and what course they have chosen.
For most undergraduate courses, students will need an IELTS score of 6.0 or an equivalent English qualification. Students will be asked to provide evidence of their English language test when they apply.
If students want to improve their English language skills before starting their course, Coventry University offers pre-sessional English courses. These courses will help students reach the required language level for their chosen programme. They'll also help students get ready for academic study and give them a great chance to meet other international students who are coming to Coventry University.

The centre of student life on campus, TheHub includes a food court, local shop and the students’ union, a perfect social space for students. It also includes the health and wellbeing centre, which features centres for disabilities, counselling and mental health services alongside the medical centre. There is also a spirituality and faith centre, a non-denominational chapel and Muslim prayer rooms. Finally, TheHub is home to the career’s services team, which helps students find the right place for them after graduation.
The university offers a range of comfortable, secure and reasonably prices accommodation options, purposefully designed to meet students’ needs. There is also a residential life programme in all university-owned and partner-owned accommodation which schedules events and social occasions throughout the year to help students connect.
Based over five floors, the Lanchester Library features modern facilities offering excellent resources. Students have access to the IT service desk and eLearning unit, the Centre for Academic Writing, and photocopying and printing facilities.
