What will I learn?

The program is designed to provide the individuals a skill set to pursue a career in today’s highly technical and competitive field of diesel technology. The Diesel Technology program at St. Philip's College is designed to provide individuals with the necessary skill set to pursue a career in today's highly technical and competitive field of diesel technology. There is a large demand for Diesel Technicians in many areas such as Construction, Transportation, Agriculture Oil and Gas, Mining, and Environmental fields, just to name a few. A skill set to pursue a career in today’s highly technical and competitive field of diesel technology. The program is both classroom instruction and lab projects. Courses in the program include Heavy Duty Brake Systems, Diesel Engine, and Engine performance, Preventive Maintenance, Basic Hydraulics, Electrical, and more advanced diesel technology courses. Practical work experience is accomplished through a Practicum. All course material and Student Learning Outcomes (SLO) are approved by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
