The Fire Science / Fire Technolog, A.A.S., reflects the assessed needs of the community for careers in the fire service and the need for trained professionals in disaster preparedness.The curricula are designed to prepare students for career advancement and leads to university transfer credit. The curricula of the Fire Science / Fire Tech, A.A.S., meets or exceeds the standards established by the National Fire Academy-Fire and Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE) committee. San Antonio College's Fire Science program prepares you to advance in your career in fire service. The program builds on SAC’s Fire Academy, which prepares you for a career as an entry-level firefighter, by offering two associate degree options: Fire Service Leadership or Fire Science/Fire Fighting with an Emphasis in Homeland Security.
