What will I learn?

Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists are essential members of the heart care team, assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease. They work directly in cardiac catheterization labs, operating specialized equipment, monitoring patients, and supporting life-saving procedures such as angioplasty and stent placement. With heart disease remaining the leading cause of death in the U.S., the demand for highly trained cardiovascular technologists continues to grow, offering excellent career opportunities and stability across Texas and the nation. Program Highlights- Only publicly funded program in the region. Hands-on training in simulation labs and clinical sites. Preparation for the RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) credential. Strong job placement across Texas.

Entry requirements

For international students

Prerequisite Courses (Not required for ATC Track) BIOL 2401 Anatomy & Physiology I. BIOL 2402 Anatomy & Physiology II. MATH (college-level). ENGL 1301 Composition IReading/Writing readiness. Complete all prerequisite courses (may be in progress at application).Attend the mandatory program orientation if selected.After admission, program faculty will determine placement into: Certificate I (new students), Certificate II (continuing students), or Advanced Technical Certificate (ATC) (students with an AAS or higher in an allied health field).
