The two-year Mechanical Engineering Technology program teaches students the fundamentals needed to operate machines, test products and improve manufacturing processes. Students can continue their education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. This field focuses on designing products and the machines used to make them. Mechanical technicians are needed across many industries, from steelmaking to consumer products like tires, cars and home appliances. They work alongside engineers in design, testing, manufacturing and servicing mechanical components and systems found throughout industry. Graduates with an associate degree are well prepared to start careers in various areas of mechanical technology.
