This program gives you the knowledge and skills to enter the legal field as a paralegal, assisting attorneys in trial preparation, legal research and other areas of law. You’ll develop a broad-based understanding of law and the courtroom. You’ll learn legal terminology and how to understand and draft legal documents, interview clients and conduct relevant research. Courses will cover a variety of legal areas, including family law, civil litigation, elder law, estate law, torts, contracts and personal injury law, criminal law, contracts and legal ethics. The program includes a 150-hour internship where you’ll gain hands-on experience in a law office or similar legal organization.
