Anthropology at SAC includes three of the four major fields of Anthropology: Physical or Biological Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, and Archaeology. You will learn to see the world differently than you do now. Though each of the fields are different - physical anthropology is concerned with human evolution and development archaeology is the study of past cultural material and the people associated with them cultural anthropology focuses on the understanding of existing cultural groups – we all embrace a common holistic perspective. We do this to try and answer the question, "What does it mean to be a human being" What you'll learn are the past and ongoing processes of our humanity. If you have ever wondered, why religion exists, or why babies have a strong grip, or what does it mean to bury the dead, then these classes are for you.
