The World Languages program assists students with becoming proficient in a foreign language in an effort to prepare them for transfer to a four-year institution. The World Languages program offers an associate of arts degree that can be customized with courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese. Students fluent in a foreign language can seek employment as educators or translators as well as possible careers in international business.Student Learning OutcomesInteract on a variety of familiar everyday topics in the language of concentration.Present a variety of familiar, everyday topics in the language of concentration.Interpret ideas in common contexts in the language of concentration.Relate cultural concepts and contexts in the language of concentration to one’s own cultural concepts and contexts.
