The English Department offers courses in composition (two developmental courses and two college freshman courses), creative writing, technical writing, and literature. The English Department at San Antonio College has a long tradition of offering high-quality education. We are respected by the major Texas universities and have a reputation for preparing students who are well equipped for academic and professional success. Upon completion of the freshman composition courses, students will have the skills required to write a college-level essay using MLA documentation and citation form. Sophomore literature courses will add practice in writing college essays and introduce students to various fields of literature. Creative writing and technical writing courses will introduce the principles of authorship in literary and technical writing.
