What will I learn?

The Associate of Science program aligns with the first two years of a bachelor of science degree, preparing you to continue your education at a four-year university in a variety of fields, including science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Much of your coursework will fulfill general education requirements, which typically include math, English composition, social science, and humanities courses. After completing general education courses, you can take courses in your area of concentration or take electives in your preferred area of study. This program emphasizes science, technology, engineering and math courses. The number of required courses and course distribution will vary between schools, so check with an adviser at your school to determine the exact requirements. Follow the pre-major AS to BS Transfer Advising Guide for the major and university you plan to attend.

Entry requirements

For international students

All foreign credentials must be evaluated. Admission requires a general evaluation stating credential is equivalent to that of a U.S. high school or U.S. college or university. All evaluations must be completed by a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). Please note: Some evaluation services require translation from a translation service. In order to have foreign college credit count towards the completion of a program at a college of the Alamo Colleges District, students must submit a course by course evaluation.

*There may be different IELTS requirements depending on your chosen course.
