What will I learn?

The associate in science degree in kinesiology: sport and recreation management is a two-year course of study designed for students who are interested in a career as a sports or recreation administrator in a wide variety of businesses such as intercollegiate athletics, interscholastic athletics, fitness centers, spas and wellness centers, recreational facilities, etc. While most of the major requirements are transferable and meet prerequisites required in associated bachelor’s degrees, this degree is not designed specifically as transfer curriculum. Students who intend to transfer must consult with a program advisor or counselor to ensure that the requirements for transfer to four-year institutions of their choice are met. Possible programs of study at the baccalaureate level include sports management or other specialty area related to the discipline of kinesiology and or/business. Students who intend to transfer are advised to select General Education Option 3 (CSUGE). Option 1 (DVC General Education) is appropriate for students who do not intend to transfer.

Entry requirements

For international students

Student will qualify for admission with one of the following: a high school diploma, by passing the California Certificate of Proficiency Test or General Education Development Test (GED) or be at least 18 years old and no longer enrolled in high school.
