What will I learn?

The multidisciplinary studies (MDS) program offers a flexible and creative approach to your education, allowing you to pursue exactly what you’re interested in. Multidisciplinary studies students can combine coursework from two or three disciplines to design their own program of study with the help of faculty advisors. Examples of student-designed majors, World building (game design, history, and philosophy), Math as a Black student (Black studies and mathematics), Global healthcare and aging (nursing, aging and health, global health), Connecting music and writing (music and English), Health sciences (nursing and global health), Merging nursing and Black studies (nursing and Black studies), Sustainable practices in interior architecture (interior architecture & design and sustainability studies).

Entry requirements

For international students

Submit secondary and/or post-secondary sealed official transcripts translated into English by a certified professional. Transcripts with at least three years' grades must be uploaded by school counselors. Minimum GPA requirement: 2.5. SAT/ACT score, letter of recommendation from a teacher or school counselor: highly recommended for our most competitive programs, such as nursing, biology, engineering, and psychology, a personal essay (up to 650 words) that demonstrates qualities of leadership, community service, work experiences and/or other significant interests; this can be completed as part of your Common Application.
