What will I learn?

The ABET-accredited Surveying Engineering Technology curriculum stresses the technical, theoretical and legal aspects of surveying, with a special emphasis on the importance of researching case law to adequately perform a land survey or aid judicial authorities in resolving boundary disputes. A secondary focus is the application of geospatial mapping technologies for depicting the characteristics of natural resources and infrastructure evaluations.

Program Objectives

The Surveying Engineering Technology program expects that: Graduates will become licensed surveyors and/or GIS specialists; Graduates will be able to take on supervisory roles in their firms. Some graduates will start their own surveying practice; Graduates will be able to apply and expand upon their undergraduate-level surveying preparation. This will be accomplished through continuing education and becoming involved in regional and national professional societies such as NJSPLS and ACS.

Learning Outcomes
