What will I learn?

The mission of the professional education unit is to prepare candidates who attain educational achievement through collaboration and reflection. To that end the professional education unit (including content departments), collaborates with K-12 schools, Educational Service Cooperatives, Educational Renewal Zones and other local, state, and national organizations to inculcate high standards of educational achievement for all students. The Unit engages pre-service and in-service teachers, administrators, counselors and other educators to excel in teaching, leadership, scholarship and service.Our foreign language graduates can communicate effectively.Our foreign language graduates understand diversity reflected in literature of their target language.Our foreign language graduates can analyze and evaluate competing arguments and interpretations.Our graduates can conduct research to access and synthesize information.Our foreign language graduates will demonstrate knowledge of literature, culture and civilization, and/or linguistics in the target languages.

Photocopies may be temporarily accepted if they are certified by an official at the American Embassy or a known world organization.Secondary School/University TranscriptsWe require a 2.0 minimum GPA for all incoming freshmen and transfer students.New international undergraduate students must take the residual ACT prior to registration for classes to assess their English skills for placement purposes. An additional placement exam may also be offered (depending on the ACT score) to ensure proper advisement into appropriate English courses.For other international students.
