Graduate students study with nationally and internationally known faculty members in the fields of environmental philosophy and the philosophy of science, technology, and society.At the undergraduate level, we provide a traditional program focused on developing a solid background in the history of philosophy, epistemology, logic, metaphysics, philosophy of science, and other subjects, but including some introductory and advanced work in environmental ethics.Our rigorous curriculum introduces you to methods of thinking about the timeless questions of truth, beauty, goodness, and justice.When you pursue a Master's degree in Philosophy at the University of North Texas, you'll join an internationally recognized program that is known for its focus on environmental ethics and philosophy.The master's degree is appropriate for students wishing to develop master's-level expertise in philosophy before pursuing doctoral studies in philosophy or related fields. It also provides an excellent background for students planning careers in law, policy, environmental science, public and private sector environmental firms, and nongovernmental organizations.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
