What will I learn?

The art education program in the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art consists of a core curriculum of theory and practice that prepares students to work in a variety of organizational settings, from museums to recreational centers. The B.A. in Art Education plus licensure enables graduates to teach in classrooms from the preschool level through 12th grade.The Mary Schiller Myers School of Art, located in Folk Hall, offers 70,000 square feet of learning space - enabling students to explore new areas of creative research and ensuring that their professional skills are cutting edge.A degree in art education paves the way to teach in elementary, middle and secondary schools, and to specialize in a particular area of interest, such as drawing, photography or ceramics. All students seeking licensure must be enrolled in a College of Education teacher preparation program.
