American Sign Language (ASL) is a visual language with unique grammar and syntax. ASL consists of body and facial expressions along with hand shapes, movement and location of signs. ASL is the third most used language in the United States. Students will also learn about the Deaf community and culture through class lessons and community interactions in Stillwater and other locations in Oklahoma.

Highlights
ASL Students can choose an interpreting focus in the degree, or the traditional B.A. path. Students will be trained in Deaf Culture, Poetry for ASL, Storytelling for ASL, Ethics in Interpreting in addition to hands-on learning through the OSU Language Lab. ASL students also have access to the Mango app (ASL tips and training) for free Students may also link up with the American Sign Language Club on campus.
