What will I learn?

Biology is a natural science concerned with the study of life and living organisms. The biology major can be tailored to meet the needs of students interested in the health sciences, animal or plant physiology, cell and molecular biology, ecology or environmental studies, or evolution and systematics. It is possible to complete a Biology Major while earning either the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science. Biology provides a broad perspective in the biological sciences. You can tailor your studies to match your interests in health sciences, animal or plant physiology, cell and molecular biology, ecology or environmental studies, or evolution and systematics. This degree is designed for students who wish to take more courses outside of the natural sciences. The courses you choose will open up a wealth of career opportunities - not lock you into one occupation. You’ll extend your education way beyond the classroom to every area of your life. There are many options available to Biology majors. A partial list would include admission to pre-professional schools (medical, dental, veterinary, physical therapy, etc.), graduate studies, or immediate employment as a naturalist, park technician, assistant pathologist, lab technician, technical sales representative, research technician, museum curator, fisheries manager, environmental planner, municipal zookeeper, environmental impact analyst, or high school biology teacher.

Entry requirements

For international students

Basic requirements for admission as an international student to a bachelor's degree program include the following: Completion of formal secondary education in a pre-university curriculum. Completion must include the awarding of a diploma or the issuance of a leaving certificate or matriculation certificate generally recognized as the educational qualification necessary for admission to higher studies. English language ability at a level sufficient to undertake a full course of study. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT) scores (if applicable). International students are not required to provide an ACT or SAT score, but they may use the ACT or SAT to satisfy English language proficiency requirements. Copy of Passport or National ID card.
