The Lamar University Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry program will prepare you to explore the processes of life at the molecular level. In your study of biochemistry, you will examine how cell components work together and communicate with each other, giving you strong foundations in disciplines such as genetics, forensics, microbiology, plant science and medicine. Lamar University's Chemistry and Biochemistry Department has active research programs in several areas including environmental chemistry biochemistry, surface chemistry, computational chemistry, materials science, polymer chemistry, transition metal coordination chemistry, molecular spectroscopy and organic reaction mechanisms.
