What will I learn?

Explore life and prepare for a dual career option as a Biologist and as a secondary science teacher. Modern biology encompasses the study of all aspects of living systems, from the molecular basis of genetic inheritance to the interactions between organisms and the environment. Our comprehensive curriculum allows you to earn either a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree for a career as a Biologist and also prepares you to test for your teacher's certification upon graduation, thus expanding your career options. Undergraduate students have opportunities to investigate topics through hands-on experience. You can explore a wide variety of areas, such as: Aquatic toxicology, Cell biology, Ecology and evolution, Forensic biology, Laboratory techniques used in research, Microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, Plant and animal structure and function (physiology)

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
