Strengthen your video and broadcast reporting skills to deliver developing stories and breaking news that keeps the world informed. UNT's Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a concentration in Broadcast and Digital Journalism will prepare you with the skills you need to stay competitive in today's media environment. Students learn to create stories that inform, engage and impact a global audience. The Mayborn School of Journalism teaches skills and responsibilities that distinguish professional journalists in an age when just about anyone can publish on a website or social media service.Developed in close partnership with industry, the Mayborn School of Journalism curriculum gives students broad and diverse skills for work in multiple media platforms. You’ll develop the skills needed to analyze, evaluate and inform a global audience, as well as to consider the ethical implications of mass communication and its impact in today's world. Mayborn students have access to multimedia labs featuring state-of-the-art computers, software and video equipment. The school emphasizes curriculum and career advising and mentoring by professionally trained faculty and staff.Broadcast journalism students gain exposure to all of the latest technologies and trends in the industry, including news anchors and producing, short- and long-form documentary filmmaking, sports journalism, corporate storytelling and other forms of visual communication.Our journalism concentrations ­- Broadcast and Digital, Print and Digital or Photojournalism - can prepare you for a career in reporting, writing, editing and photojournalism (video and photography) for the internet, television, newspapers, magazines and radio. With a strong focus on multi-platform journalism, Mayborn students gain hands-on experience as news reporters, sports reporters, writers, photojournalists, designers and editors for North Texas Daily, NTDaily.com and NTDaily TV.You’ll receive comprehensive instruction from faculty with extensive professional experience in broadcast, print, online and digital news. They also can complete internships at newspaper, television, radio and web organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the nation's fifth-largest media market, and in other news organizations in the area and across the state.

Entry requirements

For international students

Beginning freshman from international high school:- Graduation from a high school recognized by the home country ministry of education, Official transcripts/diplomas (in native language and English) showing all courses and marks of final three years of secondary school Students with a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.25 or higher are guaranteed admission to UNT. Students' GPAs will be standardized on a 4.0 GPA scale once transcripts are submitted. Beginning freshman from U.S. high school:- Minimum of three years and graduation from an accredited high school in the U.S., Official transcripts, showing rank in class through at least junior year, plus graduation date, U.S. graduates only. Send SAT or ACT scores
