Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a Biochemistry Certificate

The University offers a certificate program for chemistry majors who are interested in careers in biochemistry. This is an interdisciplinary program that involves additional courses in biochemistry and biology. In addition to the usual requirements for the B.A. degree in chemistry, the student must take the following courses.Requirements for a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry with a Biochemistry emphasis: This degree is intendedto provide students whose interest in chemistry is focused on the synthetic and biochemical aspects witha more attractive degree path, to provide a B.A. degree for students with these chemistry interests whoare also interested in developing their foreign language skills and to provide students with a preprofessional focus (pre-medical, pre-dental, pre-pharmacy, etc.) with an attractive chemistry degreeoption in which the calculus, physics and physical chemistry requirements are more appropriate for theirneeds and interests.
