What will I learn?

Ideas and convictions matter. Advocacy requires a deep understanding of the audience to persuade people and steer groups toward action. Advocacy and Public Communication considers how messages are constructed (and by whom), which meanings are privileged and excluded, and to what effects. Responsible advocates challenge ideas that perpetuate inequality and advance causes they care deeply about. You’ll analyze, critique, and craft messages that influence society and promote ethical societal change.
