What will I learn?

This track offers students the opportunity to study relationships among different forms of media, cinema, and digital culture. Students will be able to analyze film, television, social networks, video games, zines, and other media from various critical, historical, and theoretical perspectives. In addition, students will be able to explore historical and contemporary developments in media technologies, industry structures, shifts in mainstream and independent narrative, formal conventions, and historical and emerging global cultural practices.

Entry requirements

For international students

All applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency in one of the following ways: An approved test score that meets the requirement for regular or conditional admission. University study: Completion of at least 18 months of full-time, for-credit academic study (approximately three semesters) at a recognized or accredited institution of higher education whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM. Secondary/high school study: Proof of completion of the last two years of secondary/high school at an institution whose language of instruction is English immediately prior to enrollment at UWM. TOEFL IBT - 79 or higher, TOEFL PBT - 548 or higher, IELTS - 6.5
