What will I learn?

Environmental science is the integrative study of our natural environment, land, water and air, and how humans affect and are affected by the environment. The environmental sciences program at SIUE is interdisciplinary and is designed to cultivate students’ perspectives of environmental issues and provide them with refined knowledge of environmental issues on a local, regional and global scale. The program curriculum will increase students’ technical competence in addressing these environmental issues, their origins, ramifications and resolutions.Students in the environmental sciences program have various opportunities to conduct research with faculty on diverse, multidisciplinary and cutting-edge topics in the fields of: Environmental biologyChemistryToxicologyTechnology Environmental policyStudents in the program gain professional experience through community service, internships and other hands-on learning opportunities.

Entry requirements

For international students

Students seeking a bachelors degree from SIUE who have never attended a college or university, and those who may have taken some coursework at a college or university outside the U.S. but do not currently hold a bachelors degree.Submit official records showing grades for all years of secondary/high school AND official exam results or certificate/diploma. Applicants who have attempted at least 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of college-level transfer credit (either from the U.S. or abroad) are not required to provide secondary school records.Meet English proficiency requirementTOEFL: 72IELTS: 6.0 (no component score under 5.5)
