What will I learn?

LIC is designed to integrate the study of modern foreign languages with international cultures, business, politics, and economics to prepare students for exciting, global careers. You will learn the skills and knowledge needed to function in a global environment and professional dealings. You will hone your language skills to reach a level of competence allowing you to handle with confidence a large number of real-life situations at an advanced level. You will also discover some of the most distinctive aspects of Hispanic culture and civilization. The program offers learning experiences by studying abroad and in local, multicultural and international internships. With a BA in French, you will find opportunities in areas such as international careers, health and social services, translation and interpretation agencies, the fields of international communication and information services, science, the arts, education, foreign service, government, business – particularly the automotive industry in Michigan – banking, and tourism. A major in French will allow you to continue in many graduate programs.

Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.
