The University of Toledo Health Sciences Program introduces you to a variety of health professions through a diverse curriculum of sciences and interdisciplinary coursework. Develop the foundational healthcare knowledge you need to advance to graduate-level programs or a career in fields including nonprofit and for-profit health leadership, community health programs, occupational therapy, and research and policy development. As health and healthcare systems evolve, dive into a program that prepares you to meet today’s health challenges head-on. Specialize Your Education Within the B.A. in Health Sciences, you’ll pursue one of three concentrations based on your career interests and goals. The Pre-Occupational Therapy concentration prepares students for success in graduate occupational therapy programs. The Social Determinants of Health concentration focuses on the nonmedical factors that impact health and includes a two-semester capstone experience to prepare students for a health-related career. The Pre–Graduate Entry Nursing concentration designed for students planning to pursue graduate nursing programs. You are considered a freshman if you are coming to UToledo directly from high school and have never attended university. If you took college courses while enrolled in high school, you are still considered a freshman.
