What will I learn?

The DePaul flute studio consists of fewer than twenty undergraduate, graduate and certificate students pursuing degrees in performance, education and sound recording technology. The studio works as a cohesive unit to nurture camaraderie while striving for personal bests. We encourage students to support one another in all flute related activities whether at DePaul or throughout the city. We are honored to have in friendship and fellowship our colleagues through the Chicago Flute Club and other local universities. The Bachelor of Arts in Music degree is intended for students who wish to combine the study of music with liberal arts and sciences. In addition to music courses, the program is comprised of a broad range of liberal studies courses, along with a year of modern language. Students also take advanced courses in music, developing research skills, which culminate in a final project or paper.
