What will I learn?

The B.A. in Music degree is designed for qualified undergraduate students interested in a broad liberal arts experience, complementing a focus in the music discipline. The degree prepares students for careers that utilize the arts, writing, creativity, expression, and imagination across job sectors nationally and globally. It is also compatible with interests in multiple majors and minors. Students choose from one of three possible tracks: Performance, Music in Culture, or Music Technology. Your focus in a music discipline will be complemented by a broad liberal arts experience. This combination will prepare you for careers that use the arts, writing, creativity, expression, and imagination across many job areas nationally and globally. You can choose from tracks in performance, music in culture, or music technology. The BA in Music degree prepares students for a variety of career paths. Some of our graduates work in the music field as freelance artists or private teachers, while others find jobs in related fields such as arts management. Because the BA in Music degree works well as a double major, many students in this degree program go on to pursue careers in medicine, business, industry, or academia.
