What will I learn?

Sport Analytics blends sports, business, and data. You’ll learn how analytics are used to enhance player and coach performance, optimize personnel decisions, and create innovative fan engagement strategies. Designed for students with an analytical mindset, this unique program allows you to combine your interests in sports and business in meaningful, impactful ways. Our program is immersive and hands-on. One of only a few undergraduate sport analytics programs nationwide, it features an interdisciplinary curriculum recognized around the world. You’ll build quantitative, critical thinking, and decision-making skills while gaining real-world experience through internships and a capstone consulting project. You’ll learn from faculty and industry professionals and benefit from strong relationships with sport organizations in Northeast Ohio and across the country. Through partnerships with the Browns, Cavs, and Guardians, you’ll gain exposure to real analytics and career-building opportunities. Along the way, personalized academic advising helps you prepare for an exciting future in the data-driven world of sports.

Entry requirements

For international students

Official documents (including transcripts, test results, and diplomas/certificates) MUST be submitted for full admission, award of scholarships and the issuance of an I-20. An official final transcript must be submitted before you can register for your second semester coursework. SAT or ACT – The University of Akron is test-optional. The SAT or ACT is not required for admission or scholarship consideration for applicants.
