Information Systems is first and foremost a business degree. It prepares graduates to align the application of information technology to the strategic and operational needs of a business. Our IS students gain solid foundations in business from one of the nation’s best business colleges. They also become tech-savvy professionals through hands-on experiences with the latest technologies. UToledo stays on top of current trends. Our curriculum is cutting-edge and relevant, thanks to faculty research, professional engagements and industry partnerships. We’re offering two new IS minors in ''hot'' areas of the field: business information security and enterprise resource planning. Managing information and processes are at the heart of every successful organization. IS professionals serve as the bridge between functional areas of business and the team providing technology solutions. They are astute and creative problem-solvers who operate as internal consultants to an organization. among their duties, information systems professionals: Analyze and design ways to improve efficiency and productivity Improve decision-making Ensure regulatory compliance Safeguard information Deliver competitive advantages top reasons to study information systems at UToledo Top business school. Bloomberg ranked UToledo’s College of Business and Innovation one of the 100 best undergraduate business schools in the country. Paid internships. Nearly all information systems majors complete at least one paid internship. Learn the latest software. Not every business school offers students the chance to learn SAP. It’s the most popular enterprise resource-planning software and is used at most major companies. Individualized and flexible. Many IS courses are online or hybrid classes. Most are offered at least once a year in the evening. UToledo IS majors also can tailor their studies to their interests and career goals. Choose from topics, including: Application development Database management Business information security Systems analysis and design Business analysis & problem solving Enterprise resource planning Big data Hands-on experience. UToledo Information Systems students are winners almost every year at Ball State University’s case competition. Students work for almost a year to prep for the contest, during which they solve an IT business problem. UT also has an active student chapter of the Association for Information Technology Professionals. Leadership skills. Make yourself more marketable. Add our leadership minor and learn what it takes to be an effective leader. Involved faculty. Every semester, faculty members host ''meet-and-greet'' lunch sessions with students.

For international students

You are considered a freshman if you are coming to UToledo directly from high school and have never attended university. If you took college courses while enrolled in high school, you are still considered a freshman.

Minimum GPA: 2.8
