Management is creating goals and strategies for an organization and coordinating employees to achieve the objectives with available resources. It involves planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and monitoring progress. The primary role of a manager is a decision maker. Managers must be alert to social, political, economic, and technology issues in the business environment. The AACSB-accredited 120-credit-hour degree program includes 12 to 15 hours of additional management classes built around the core business curriculum. UTA’s BBA in management has four optional tracks: Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship/Small Business, International Management, and General Management.A management degree can lead to many types of jobs across the full range of industries and every sector of the economy, including financial, government, hospitality, nonprofit, tech, transportation, and energy fields. Many pursue entrepreneurial options of working for a start-up or starting their own business.
