What will I learn?

The photography program in the Mary Schiller Myers School of Art provides in-depth experience in black and white, fine art photography as well as in color printing, commercial photography, digital imaging and alternative approaches to the medium. Technical mastery and advanced conceptual thinking are emphasized, along with a solid grounding in historical and contemporary issues.State-of-the-art facilities include:separate darkrooms for introductory and advanced studentscolor darkroom with a 26" automated roller transport print processortwo commercial studios with 4" x 5" view cameras and studio strobe unitsdigital imaging computer labsBachelor of Fine Arts degrees, providing comprehensive preparation for professional practice, also are offered in the following areas:CeramicsGraphic designJewelry and MetalsmithingPainting/DrawingPrintmakingSculptureHands-on ExperienceThe Mary Schiller Myers School of Art, located in Folk Hall, offers 70,000 square feet of learning space - enabling students to explore new areas of creative research and ensuring that their professional skills are cutting edge.
