What will I learn?

Program Learning Outcomes for the BMus Degree Upon completing the BMus degree, students will be able to: Demonstrate technical and musical competence in solo performance, orchestral conducting, composition, or music-historical research appropriate to the standards of a four-year undergraduate program. Possess intermediate analytical skills in music theory and an understanding of how those skills inform music performance. Acquire a fundamental understanding of the relationship between music history and music performance. Develop superior technical collaborative skills in the student’s major area through a combination of practice, coaching, and rehearsal in large and small ensembles.

Official high school transcript in English (or a certified English translation): Students who have elected to take time off from schooling between graduating from high school and enrolling in college are considered first-year applicants. Completion of a high school diploma (or an equivalent) prior to enrolment is required for all new incoming studentsRecommendation Letters: School Counsellor, Teacher 1, Teacher 2. Applicants interested in Shepherd School of Music must submit additional materials depending on their area of study. All application materials must be completed by December 1. Music applicants are not eligible to apply through QuestBridge, Early Decision I or Early Decision II. Admitted students must pursue the music program for at least one year before changing schools.
