If you are passionate about sharing your love of music with students, whether they are in pre-school or in college, you may want to major in music education. This degree program combines music foundation courses with professional development courses in education so you are ready to teach in a classroom or a private studio. Students may choose to focus on choral music, with courses such as Vocal Diction and Choral Literature, or instrumental music, with courses in Brass, Strings, Percussion, and Woodwind. Music educators help children and young adults develop their musical abilities and appreciation for the fine arts-skills which they can enjoy throughout their lifetimes.
