The Accounting Major provides students with a strong foundation in financial reporting, taxation, auditing, and managerial accounting, supported by essential coursework in business analytics, finance, and operations. The program prepares students for a wide range of professional roles in public accounting, corporate finance, government, and nonprofit organizations. It will also fulfill prerequisite requirements for students who intend to enroll in a graduate accounting program in order to prepare themselves for the Uniform Certified Public Accountancy exam and a career in public accounting. You'll be encouraged to complete an internship to complement your academic course work in the classroom, and you will also have opportunities to get involved in faculty-led research, business-related clubs, co-ed business fraternities, and our Business Honors Program.
